Papua New Guinea Test Essay

B. The significance of food surplus is very important for many reasons. One reason is, so you can store it. A second reason, is so you can sell it. And the third reason is, so you have some left over and save it for later on.

If you sell and trade the extra food that could start an economy or trade system. By having left over food it would cause you too not hunt as much, or if it was a bad hunting day and you caught nothing, that way you have some food left over when you are in an emergency situation. Lastly you can store the food and that would also help the civilization if they took the seeds and replanted, that way the can start their own little plant farm.

These things make a huge difference because if you store the food, you won't wake up starving and spend the entire day hunting. The most important part is having food, and it is even better when they have plenty of crops and then some.
