Today in class we continued to watch Alexander. We started at the the battle of Gaugmela. Alexander NEVER lost a battle his whole life, he only missed a few towards the end of his life but never lost one battle. When Darius saw Alexander coming for him, he took off and ran away like a coward. At age 25 after defeating the Persians, The greatest empire in the world, Alexander was now king of all. All of the Persian people loved him and praised him because he defeated the army, and they now loved their leader. The Persians were welcoming him to new land that he now conquered. We skipped and few parts again and now we see that Alexander is older, but still chasing down Darius. They followed him to northeastern Persia, where they found him wounded and dead. There were 10 cities named after Alexander. Even though Darius was his enemy we wanted to get back at the people who killed him and left him by a riverbed. He gave him the proper farewell but planned on getting back and the Persian people who left him there to die. He went on a proceeded to fight the Indians. He did beat them, even though they had elephants that were hard to get down. But unfortunately, Ucefalus died and Alexander was wounded, but he recovered.
